Grant SjervenGrant was born in 1970 in Manitoba, Canada and is a netminder signed from Richmond Renegades of the East Coast Hockey League in the summer of 1997. He previously played for Chicago Wolves (IHL), Houston Aeros (IHL) and St. Cloud State (WCHA). He catches to the left.


93RICK BREBANT (Defender)
Rick BrebantRick was born in 1964 in ?, Canada and is a defender signed from Newcastle Cobras of the Superleague in November 1997. He previously played for Nottingham Panthers, Cardiff Devils (both Superleague), Durham Wasps (now Newcastle Cobras) and Carolina Thunderbirds (AAHL). He was player/coach of Newcastle Cobras while with them. He was voted Player Of The Year in 1991 and is a former GB international. He shoots to the right.


77KRIS MILLER (Defender)
Kris MillerKris was born in 1969 in Minnesota, USA and is a defender signed from Orlando Solar Bears of the International Hockey League in the summer of 1997. He has also played for Raleigh Icecaps (ECHL), Phoenix Roadrunners, Salt Lake Golden Eagles and Minnesota Moose (now Manitoba Moose) (all IHL), and for AHL teams Utica Devils, Calgary Flames and Saint John Blue Flames. He was selected by Montreal Canadiens in the sixth round (80th overall) in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft.


25KEVIN HOFFMAN (Defender)
Kevin HoffmanKevin was born in 1967 in Vancouver, Canada and is a defender signed from Raleigh Icecaps of the East Coast Hockey League in the summer of 1997. Before signing for Raleigh he spent three years in the Japanese League and in 1992 played for the University of British Columbia (Canada).


41BRAD RUBACHUK (Defender)
Brad RubachukBrad was born in 1970 in Alberta, Canada and is a defender signed from Swindon Wildcats (now Swindon Steamers) of the British Premier League in the summer of 1996. He previously played for Lethbridge Hurricanes (WHL), Rochester Americans and Binghamton Rangers (now New York Rangers) (both AHL). He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 1990 and holds the points scoring record for Swindon. He shoots to the left.


42STEFAN KETOLA (Defender)
Stefan KetolaStefan was born in 1972 in Sweden and is a forward signed from Timmendorf Strand of the German Division 1 League North in the summer of 1997. He previously played for Brynas Gavle, Frolunda Helsinki, Mora Djurgarden and AIK of the Swedish Elite League, Fussen of Germany and Saskatoon Blades (WHL). He played in two World Junior Championships with the Swedish national junior team and won 28 caps.


39JIM HRIVNAK (Netminder)
Jim HrivnakJim was born in 1968 in Montreal, Canada and is a netminder signed from Kolner Haie of the German Elite League in the summer of 1997. He previously played for Kansas City Blades, Las Vegas Thunder and Milwaukee Admirals (all IHL), Carolina Monarchs and Baltimore Skipjacks (both AHL), Merrimack College (UCHE), St Louis Blues, Winnipeg Jets and Washington Capitals (all NHL). He has played a total of 85 NHL games.


7DALE JAGO (Defender)
Dale JagoDale was born in 1968 in Manitoba, Canada and is a defender signed from Peterborough Pirates in the summer of 1995 just prior to the start of Storm's first ever game, although he was banned until Storm's first home game after an incident while at Peterborough at the end of the 1994/95 season. He previously played for Tilburg Trappers of the Dutch Premier League. Was voted Storm Player Of The Year at the end of the 1995/96 season.


55STEPHEN COOPER (Defender)
Stephen CooperStephen was born in 1966 in County Durham and is a defender signed from Cardiff Devils in the summer of 1996. He previously played for Durham Wasps and has played at the top level of the British game since 1982. While at Cardiff he played with his brother Ian. Stephen is a GB international who has won 20 major trophies whilst with Cardiff and Durham and was voted Defenceman Of The Tournament in the 1993 Pool B World Championships. He shoots to the left.


44TROY NEUMEIER (Defender)
Troy NeumeierTroy was born in 1970 in Saskatchewan, Canada and is a defender signed from Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League in the summer of 1997. He previously played for Cape Breton Oilers (who moved to Hamilton to become Hamilton Bulldogs), Hamilton Canucks, Syracuse Crunch and Adirondack Red Wings (all AHL) and Prince Albert (WHL). Was drafted by NHL side Vancouver Canucks in 1990.


9CRAIG WOODCROFT (Forward)
Craig WoodcroftCraig was born in 1969 in Toronto, Canada and is a forward signed from Weiden of the German Division 1 League North/South? in the summer of 1996. He previously played for Colgate University, Columbus Chill (ECHL), Prince Edward Island Senators and Rochester Americans (both AHL), Indianapolis Ice and Cleveland Lumberjacks (both IHL), Quad City Mallards (CoHL), Tuto Turku and Reipas Lahti (both Finland League) and Team Canada. He was drafted in 1988 by NHL side Chicago Blackhawks and was a member of the 1994 Canadian Olympic team. Craig runs the Northern Edge Elite Hockey school with Brad Zavisha and his brothers Todd and Jay Woodcroft. He shoots to the left.


15MIKE MORIN (Forward)
Mike MorinMike was born in 1971 in Saskathcewan, Canada and is a forward signed from Richmond Renegades of the East Coast Hockey League in September 1996. He previously played for Providence Bruins (AHL) and Lake Superior State University (CCHA) and was signed after playing roller hockey for San Jose Rhinos in the summer of 1996. He shoots to the left.

Hilton RugglesHilton was born in 1963 in Montreal, Canada and is a forward signed from Cardiff Devils in the summer of 1995. Was the league's top scorer in his final season with Cardiff in 1994/95. He previously played for Murrayfield Racers, Whitley Warriors and Solihull Barons (all British League), and before 1988 he played for teams in Italy, France, Germany and Austria.

Jeff JablonskiJeff was born in 1967 in Ohio, USA and is a forward signed from Roanoke Express of the East Coast Hockey League in the summer of 1997. He previously played for Raleigh Icecaps and Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League before retiring in 1994 for a season. Before that he played for Capital District Islanders and New Haven Nighthawks (both AHL) and Kansas City Blades (IHL). Was drafted by NHL side New York Islanders, although didn't play at NHL level. He shoots to the left.

He previously played for Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks (both NHL) and Stuttgart, Herisaw, Ratingen and Eisbaren Berlin (all German Elite League). He shoots to the left.

Dominic MaltaisDominic was born in 1972 in Quebec, Canada and is a forward signed from Hampton Roads Admirals of the East Coast Hockey League in the summer of 1997. He previously played for Fort Worth Fire of the Canadian Hockey League where he was top scorer in his two seasons there. Before signing for Storm, Dominic was playing for the roller hockey team Les Roadrunners de Montreal. The previous summer he played for Long Island. He was drafted by Portland Pirates in 1995 and shoots to the right. Dominic left Storm in February 1998 to return to Hampton Roads Admirals of the East Coast Hockey League.

He previously played for Telford Tigers, Murrayfield Racers (now Murrayfield Royals), Fife Flyers, Tayside Tigers and Kirkcaldy Kestrels (all British Legaue) and is a Great Britain international. He left Storm in August 1997 to join Fife Flyers.

He left Storm in the summer of 1997 and now plays for Pheonix Mustangs of the Western Professional Hockey League.

He previously played for Cornwall Aces (AHL), Ce Wein of the Austrian-Italian League, Tuto Turku of the Finland League and Capital District Islanders (AHL). In 1993/94 he played in the Canadian Olympic team. He also has NHL experience with New York Islanders and shoots to the right. He was released in November 1997 after not fitting in with new coach Kurt Kleinendorst's plans. He now plays for ?.

He previously played for Las Vegas Thunder and Minnesota Moose (now Manitoba Moose) (both IHL) and for University of Illinois. In the summer of 1996 he played roller hockey for Anaheim Bulldogs. Was drafted by NHL side Detroit Red Wings. He shoots from the left. He left Storm in November 1997 and returned to play for Toledo Storm (ECHL).

Shawn Byram Shawn was born in 1968, in Manitoba, Canada and is a forward signed from ? in November 1995. He previously played for Springfield Indians and Indianapolis Ice (both IHL), New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks (both NHL), Fassa and Forst Bolzano (both Italian League) and Bracknell Bees (Superleague). He left Storm in January 1997 after a bust-up with coach John Lawless. He signed for Ce Wein of the Austrian-Italian League. He has since signed for Ayr Scottish Eagles.

Mark Stokes Mark was born in 1966 in Litchfield, England and is a forward signed from Telford Tigers of the British League in the summer of 1995 just prior to Storm's first ever game. He previously played for Chelmsford Chieftans, Blackburn Hawks (now Lancashire Hawks), Sheffield Sabres (the team that played out of Sheffield before the Steelers) and Sunderland Chiefs of the British League. While with Blackburn he was the player/coach of the team. He left Storm in the summer of 1996, played for Whitley Warriors (English League) and now plays for Altrincham Aces of the English League.

Jason WoodJason was born in ? in ?, ? and is a netminder signed on loan in January 1997 from Cardiff Devils of the Superleague. He returned to Cardiff after a few weeks having not iced at all. He is currently playing for ?.

Daryl Lipsey Daryl was born in 1963 in Saskatchewan, Canada and is a forward signed from Swindon Wildcats of the British League in the summer of 1995 just prior to Storm's first ever game. He became player/assistant coach of Manchester Storm but retired from playing in October 1996 to concentrate on being assistant coach. He previously played for North Battleford North Stars (?) and Bournemouth Stags (British League). Was retained as assistant coach when Kurt Kleinendorst joined as new coach after John Lawless left.

Jeff Lindsay Jeff was born in 1965 in Ontario, Canada and is a defender signed from Peterborough Pirates in September 1995. He previously played for ? (IHL) and Dundee Rockets and Billingham Bombers (both British League). He has also played Roller Hockey for St Louis Blades. He was Storm's captain, a Great Britain international and was released in the summer of 1997. He is believed to have now retired.

He was released in the summer of 1996 and signed for Stevenage Oilers of the English League.

John Lawless John was born in 1961 in Ontario, Canada and is a forward. He was player/coach before retiring from playing to concentrate on being Manchester Storm's coach. He signed from Cardiff Devils in the summer of 1995 when offered the position of player/coach of Storm. He previously played for Peterborough Pirates of the British League and is a Great Britain international. He was released in the summer of 1997 and is now coach of Telford Tigers of the British League.

Steve Barnes Steve was born in 1970, in Ontario, Canada and is a defender signed from Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League in September 1995. He previously played for Lake Superior State University (CCHA). He left Storm in September 1996 reportedly following an injury, but a breach of behaviour rules was a more likely reason. After leaving Storm he signed for Nottingham Panthers and now plays for Louisiana Ice Gators of the East Coast Hockey League.

He left Storm in November 1996 to return to Telford Tigers.

He was injured for part of the season and ended his loan spell in the summer of 1996. He rejoined Cardiff Devils for the 1996/97 season but has since joined Telford Tigers of the British League.

Chad Penney Chad was born in 1974 in Newfoundland, Canada and is a forward signed from Prince Edward Island Senators of the American Hockey League in October 1996. He was drafted into the Ontario Hockey League in the second round in 1990 by North Bay Centennials. He was drafted in the second round, 25th overall, in 1993 by Ottowa Senators. As a junior he played with S. S. Marie of the Ontario Hockey League. He was a member of the Memorial Cup All Star team in 1993 and played for Canada in the World Junior Championships in 1992. He was released in the summer of 1997 and now plays for Kentucky Thoroughblades of the American Hockey League.
