It seems to be the done thing in the NHL these days..even when the player's contract has not expired. Funny how they never want to re-negotiate when they've had a lousy season!! Canadian GMs haven't the luxury of actual money to play with so they generally will trade a discontented player..It's all the fault of St Louis and New York Rangers...
