I do NOT agree that he should have cut the passage, I personally have had grief from the fans when we travelled to Sheffield earlier in the year, we even had grief from the staff serving behind the stalls selling the merchandise. They said they had a better arena, and then the sheffield steeler fan STUART MARKS left a message saying John Lawlwss was childish, for editing the passage, I would say that there was only one party here that is CHILDISH and it is certainly not MANCHESTER STORM. Whats up with these STEELERS are they jealous that we have the ARENA, We have the VIDEO WALL, and most of all we have the CROWDS. Look Jealousy gets you nowhere !! That is all I have to say on the matter. It is not like me to blast my mouth off like this, but it really had to be said!!! |

It was just childish.The reason so many Steelers fans came to the Nynex last year was not as you suggest to watch your quality hockey team, but because so many of us enjoy our hockey regardless of who is playing, and the Nynex is a nice arena in which to watch it. When we started there were only 2 teams who were attracting over 2000 fans to games (Panthers and Devils).The Steelers have helped (if not been totally responsible) for lifting this wonderful game to a higher level and, dare I say it, probably been thesingle most important factor to get an ice plant and team in Nynex. Storm have learnt from our experiences - ask Dave Biggar at Nynex if you don't believe me !!!As for the Panthers and any admiration you may have for them then I would like to see if you'll feel the same in a couple of years time. Sure, Panthers have a good team. Their backroom set up is abysmal and they care for nothing but their own fans and team (very unlike Steelers, Storm, Cobras and Cardiff). The ever naughty and nasty Nottm Panthers would take great delight from the fact that only 50 visiting fans can get tickets for their rink - that is not conducive to helping the sport at national level. Come on Bran, Storm fans are morelike Steelers fans than any other club. It is Manchester and Sheffield that will move Ice Hockey to the next plateau in the UK. John Lawless cutting it because it was to strong? More like because it was too childish. Leave that sort of thing to the Steelers eh? All this talk about best arena in Europe, maybe so, but our team has some catching up to do to get anywhere near Sheffields achievements. When our time comes, we'll have plenty of time to rub it in. As much as we all hate it they remain #1, until the end of the season at least. Storm Fans think they've got problems with Storm not performing so how do you think we feel in Sheffield. After winning the last 5 domestic trophies we're now struggling to find any real form. I reckon we have one of the best squads in the Superleague but the committment and heart has gone from some of the players, that killer instinct is missing. At least in Manchester things are getting better, you have only been 'promoted' this year after all. One of the Storm Fans wanted a defenceman and mentioned Shannon Hope, sound choice. However, can I interest you in another option ? I suggest Storm need about 3 or 4 new defencemen to play alongside Cooper and Jago. At Sheffield we could let you have Wilson, Malo and Kelland. These 3 are past their best before dates but better than some of your existing guys. As you can guess, I along with other Steelers realise we also have to strengthen and get rid of some dead wood - it's hard, and sad, but got to be done !!! By the way were Bison really that good or Manchester that poor ? |

I could try the scene here, but the House of Steel is so expensive, even for students and other concessions. Saying that, I have been to see a few matches (via free tickets from the Fresher's mart!). What have I noticed? Never have I seen so many (for want of a better expression) beer guts, on those so young. No, not the players, the 'cheerleaders'! Hold on, they don't cheer they just sort of dance about a bit. Now I know I have a genuine beer gut, but at least I have the decency NOT to show it off! New costumes to hide the bulges please.
